Dutch shoe designer Louis Leeman and Erica Pelosini met during their studies at Polimoda Institute in Erica’s hometown of Florence, Italy, the city of birth of the Renaissance. They soon after moved to Milan, where they continued their academic careers at Institute Marangoni.


Louis found his passion for handcrafted shoemaking, working with major fashion houses, while Erica, who was working for Vogue Japan as a research stylist assisting Anna Dello Russo, found her calling in fashion.


Louis and Erica shortly realised that there was a gap in the market for special men's footwear designs, so in 2012 they decided to combine their talents and give life to their own brand, creating a harmonious mix between beatniks, European style and the incomparable quality of Tuscan handcraft.


Every Louis Leeman collection aspires to offer a rich variety of styles for men obsessed with their image, and those who want to stand out from the crowd. Every style is developed with meticulous attention to every detail. Metal accessories, special embroideries, futuristic prints, and top-quality fabrics are the key elements for which the brand stands out.


Creative directors Erica Pelosini and Louis Leeman have also had the opportunity to collaborate with high fashion brands such as Roberto Cavalli, and since 2013 are working with Cesare Casadei to develop his men’s collections. Most recently, Louis Leeman worked with Mary Katrantzou to create the exclusive footwear collection for her FW17 and SS18 runway shows.


In February 2017 during London Fashion Week the brand reached a milestone and launched it’s first women’s collection, receiving strong feedback from both top titles and key retailers.
